Whittlesey, Norman and Cynthia Scholarship Endowment

Norman Whittlesey was a long-time member of the Agricultural Economics Department faculty at WSU.  Retiring in the mid 90’s, he taught both undergraduate and graduate classes, while also mentoring graduate students during his tenure. His research in water policy, value, and management was widely recognized in the agricultural economics profession.

Norman and Cynthia place a high value on education, intending for this scholarship to help many students towards their futures in the economics of agriculture.

Award Requirements

This Fund shall be used in the School of Economic Sciences. First preference will be for graduate students conducting or planning to conduct research on the economics of agriculture, to be used by the recipient for such things as, including but not limited to, tuition and fees, subsistence, research expenses, and other educationally related costs.  This scholarship may be awarded to undergraduate students, should this be the greatest need at the time, as determined by the Department Chair or leadership.
