Building a Resilient Washington Together
Working together with our partners, volunteers, stakeholders, and students, CAHNRS builds a resilient Washington that thrives regardless of what life throws at us. CAHNRS trains a qualified, adaptable workforce, promotes access for all to healthy foods and stewarded natural resources, and builds thriving communities, families, and individuals. With your support, we can do more through our learning, discovery, and community-engaged programs.
Dean’s Priorities
Support CAHNRS
The CAHNRS Excellence Fund plays a pivotal role in advancing the wide-ranging goals of our college. By contributing to this fund, you’re supporting our overarching mission to innovate, educate, and improve communities. Your donation helps us respond to emerging needs and opportunities, fostering excellence in all areas – from student scholarships and faculty research to community outreach and infrastructure enhancements.
Investing in scholarships at the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) is more than just financial support; it’s a commitment to the future of our students and the fields they will revolutionize. Here’s how you can make a meaningful difference:
- CAHNRS Scholarship Fund: Directly support a diverse group of talented students in their academic pursuits, helping to alleviate financial barriers and open doors to new opportunities.
- Departmental Scholarships: Choose to contribute to existing scholarships within specific departments, directly impacting students in your area of interest.
- Endowed Scholarships: Create a lasting legacy by establishing an endowed scholarship. This is a gift that keeps giving, ensuring long-term support for students for generations to come.
Every scholarship you support is a step towards a brighter future, fostering a new generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers within CAHNRS.

Endowments are a particularly powerful investment in the college’s future because they deliver a dependable, perpetual source of funding. The WSU Foundation Endowment is composed of nearly 2,000 restricted funds established by donors for specific purposes, such as named scholarships or professorships. Endowed funds are unique in that the gift is invested. Each year, a percentage of the endowment’s 36-month rolling average is distributed to benefit the University. The rest is re-invested to ensure growth, maintaining the fund’s spending power far into the future. In this respect, an endowment is intended to be a perpetual gift.
For more information about creating an endowment, contact one of our Directors of Development. Once you decide to create an endowment, we will work closely with you to help define the features of your endowment to meet both your wishes and the needs of CAHNRS programs.
