Rosalie & Harold Rea Brown Distinguished Endowed Chair in Plant Pathology

Harold Brown has been successful in business, and now through his efforts as trustee of the Rosalie and Harold Rea Brown Foundation, wants to give back to causes that are important to him and that address a great need in society, food security. Harold R. Brown, as Trustee, is making this gift to create a distinguished endowed chair in honor of his parents, Rosalie Marie Brown and Harold Rea Brown, and the grandparents of Professor Timothy D. Murray.

Uses and Purposes

Distributions from this Fund shall be used to supplement the salary of the holder of the chair, to pay salaries for his or her assistants, and to pay expenses associated with the holder’s scholarly work including sabbatical leave and international travel. It is intended that the holder of this endowed chair shall use the distributions of this fund to conduct translational research bridging discoveries from basic science to develop applied solutions for producers directed toward reducing losses caused by plant diseases and thereby improving food security.
