Rich (EE -69′) and Linda (HD- 68′, deceased) Detering are establishing this scholarship to help students SW Washington students attend Washington State University who might otherwise not be able to get a college education.
Award Requirements
The distributions from this Fund shall be used to award one or more scholarships in the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) in the amount of a academic year’s full tuition or as near to full tuition as the endowment distributions will allow, according to the following selection criteria and preferences, if and as allowable by university policies, and applicable federal, state and local laws:
First preference for students from Lewis County, Washington, who also meet the following criteria:
First year student who has participated in 4-H and is currently studying Early Childhood or Human Development.
If there are no students from Lewis County, Washington, who meet the criteria above, then preference shall be given to those who meet these criteria outside of Lewis County in rural areas of Southwest Washington.
