Charlotte Y. Martin Distinguished Professorship in Agriculture Research

The Charlotte Y. Martin Foundation is dedicated to the ideals of the late Mrs. Charlotte Y. Martin, an advocate and champion of education for young people.

Uses and Purposes

The major objectives of the Charlotte Y. Martin Distinguished Professorship in Agricultural Research are:

  1. To honor Charlotte Y. Martin’s interest in protecting the environment while supporting students and significant research.
  2. To support the training of future scientists through a graduate research fellowship in agricultural research; and to support research, extension, and teaching activities of the Distinguished Professor.
  3. To honor a distinguished scientist in the College of Agriculture and Home Economics for contributions to agricultural research. Initially the area of research shall be the biological control of small grain pests. In the future, the research may be in any agricultural area of high priority within the College of Agricultural and Home Economics.
  4. To attract additional sources of funding in plant protection and sustainable agriculture.
