In 1976 WSU received funds through the estate of Mrs. Charline M. Wackman to set up a scholarship endowment. Charline M. Wackman was a former Pullman resident who died in Oregon, Dade County, Wisconsin, in 1972. Mr. Brabyn was Mrs. Wackman’s father and long-time farmer in the Pullman area. He homesteaded near what is known as “Kitzmiller Corner” a few miles north of Pullman. Funds were also left to the University of Wisconsin.
