Supporting Funds

Distinguished Professorship in Agricultural and Resource Economics
Support high quality teaching and scholarly work on the economics of agriculture, the food system, resource and/or environmental issues. Supported efforts contribute to the strategic goals of the School of Economic Sciences. The proceeds from the endowment fund may be used to supplement the salary of the holder of the chair/professorship, pay salaries for his or her assistants, and pay expenses associated with the holder’s scholarly work.
Sustainable Development Professorship
The purpose of the endowment fund is to support high quality teaching and scholarly work on the economics of sustainable development. Supported efforts are expected to contribute effectively to the strategic goals of the School of Economic Sciences.

Bertha Leigh Memorial Lecture Fund
To provide funds to bring in a distinguished lecturer.
James C. Nelson Distinguished Graduate Fellowship
To attract exceptional graduate students with a demonstrated interest in microeconomics. Nelson Fellows will be expected to actively conduct research on transportation economics issues.
Endowed Chair in Small Grains Economics
The purpose of the endowment fund is to support high quality research and outreach activities regarding the current high-priority economic issues facing the small grains industry.

Scholarships

Virginia Gibson Pickrell Memorial
Scholarship is for worthy and deserving student, or students, matriculating in Washington State University and majoring in the fields of Drama and or Economics and or Law.
Economics Undergraduate
A student will be selected and awarded each year on the basis of scholarship, leadership, and need.
Agricultural Economics Memorial
Available to a student majoring in agricultural economics. For use during sophomore, junior, or senior year. Based on scholarship, leadership and need.
A.H. Harrington
Available to any student majoring in agricultural economics. Selection shall be based on scholastic ability.
E.J. Working
Available to a full time, regularly enrolled students in the School of Economic Sciences. Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, and other relevant considerations.
Orlo H. and H. Delight Maughan Graduate Scholarship
Available to a full-time, regularly enrolled graduate student enrolled in odd numbered years to the School of Economic Sciences. Based on Financial need and academic achievement.
Jeffrey Krautkraemer “Pay It Forward”
To strengthen community involvement and participation by the recipient.
Wallace (Wally) A. Rehberg
Student must have a Junior or Senior class standing and declared their major in either Agricultural Economics or Agribusiness in the School of Economic Sciences.
Ermalinda (Dolly) LaPort
Student at any level given in terms of need and academic accomplishment.
C. Richard and Janet L. Shumway Graduate Fellowship
This will be used for graduate students after it is endowed.
Henry T. Buechel Memorial Endowment Fund
Scholarships go to needy students pursuing a degree in economics at Washington State University
